Nehéz szavakba önteni, mennyire büszkék vagyunk rájuk. Minden egyes cím és helyezés mögött rengeteg közös munka, gyakorlás, utazás és persze még több szeretet áll.

Hatalmas élmény volt ismét itt lenni, és ilyen csodálatos eredményekkel hazatérni. Köszönjük a kíváló szervezést, a rengeteg kedvességet és a korrekt bírálatokat.

We took part in the OZ MADA 2× International Dog Show, where we already felt almost like familiar faces, as we had also attended the show here in the spring.

Once again, the event was exceptionally well organized, held at a beautiful venue, and featured a very strong international competition. This makes us even happier and prouder that our dogs came home with such wonderful results.

It is difficult to put into words just how proud we are of them. Behind every title and placement are countless hours of working, training and travelling together and, of course, even more love.

It was a wonderful experience to be here again and to return home with such amazing results.

What does the daily routine involve? How much time goes into caring for the dogs, keeping everything clean, staying in touch with puppy families, socializing young puppies, preparing for dog shows, and simply making sure every dog receives the individual attention they need?

The truth is, no two days are exactly the same at Budai Alfa Kennel. But there are some things that are always part of our everyday life: care, responsibility, routine, plenty of work — and, of course, a lot of love.

We decided to take you behind the scenes and show you what an ordinary day with us looks like.

Our mornings start with the dogs

Our day begins with our dogs — usually before anything else.

Morning vitamins are part of our routine, and luckily, our dogs absolutely love them. We make sure everyone gets what they need before it is time for breakfast.

Depending on the day, breakfast may include cooked meat or premium-quality dog food, carefully chosen for our dogs’ needs.

Once everyone has eaten, it is time to head outside. Running, playing and exploring the garden is the perfect way to start the day.

Caring for our current litter

When we have puppies, a large part of our day naturally revolves around them.

Feeding, cleaning, playing, observing their development and spending time with them are all part of our daily routine.

As they grow, we gradually introduce them to new experiences, sounds, environments and situations in an age-appropriate way. These small everyday experiences play an important role in helping puppies discover the world around them and develop with confidence.

Cleanliness is part of every day

Keeping our dogs’ environment clean is one of the most important parts of our routine.

Beds, blankets, bowls and living areas are cleaned regularly, and we use dog-friendly cleaning products to keep their surroundings fresh and comfortable.

It may not be the most glamorous part of kennel life, but it is certainly one of the most important.

Then comes the “office work”

Being a breeder also means spending quite a few hours behind a laptop or phone.

We stay in touch with our puppy families, answer questions from future owners and interested families, provide advice, share updates and offer support whenever it is needed.

For us, our responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves our home. Staying connected with our families and being available for their questions is an important part of what we do.

And yes — office work often happens with a poodle sitting on our lap.

Afternoon walks, exercise and new experiences

Afternoons often include walks, exercise and time spent outdoors.

Every dog receives new experiences appropriate for their age and personality. For younger dogs especially, gradual exposure to the world is an important part of their development.

Different environments, sounds, people, surfaces and everyday situations all help them become familiar with the world around them.

Practice during show season

During dog show season, training also becomes part of the routine.

We practice movement, standing and being handled so that our dogs can feel comfortable and confident in the show ring.

These training sessions are kept positive and enjoyable — for us, the dogs’ wellbeing always comes first.

Our daily cuddle ritual

One of our favourite parts of the day usually comes in the evening.

Every dog is different. Some would happily spend hours being cuddled, while others prefer a little scratch behind the ears, a quiet moment beside us or simply being close to the family.

That is why every one of our dogs gets individual affection, attention and care in the way they enjoy it most.

They are not simply dogs living in a kennel.

They are part of our everyday family life.

One last game before bedtime

Before dinner and bedtime, there is usually time for one last big run, some ball play and a little fun together.

After a full day of activity, new experiences and plenty of attention, everyone can enjoy their dinner and settle down for a well-deserved rest.

And the next morning, we begin all over again.

THE AUTUMN SHOW SEASON HAS BEGUN, and we had an incredibly long, busy and exciting day filled with wonderful experiences and beautiful results.

We attended the OTK CAC Dog Show with several of our dogs, where a huge field gathered: lots of beautiful dogs, continuous judging and exciting competitions throughout the day.

By the end of the day, we were happy to return home with many wonderful results:

It was especially exciting for us to see our particolor poodles competing head-to-head for first place in an extremely close competition, making the judges’ decision far from easy.

With such a large and strong field and so many beautiful dogs, we are especially proud of every single result and, of course, of all our dogs.

As summer comes to an end, it feels so nice to look back on how many wonderful dog-filled memories and adventures we’ve shared over the past few months. We’ve put together a little selection of our favorite moments, along with some of the things we’ve learned along the way.

We love giving our dogs the opportunity to experience as many different situations as possible, rather than only knowing their familiar home environment. Different surfaces, sounds, people, vehicles, water, forests, busy towns — each one offers something new.

What we find especially interesting is how differently they can react to exactly the same new situation. One of them may feel completely comfortable within two minutes and be ready to explore everything, while another prefers to observe first, stay a little closer to us, and take more time to open up. We never rush this process. The goal is not for every dog to face everything bravely straight away, but to gain positive experiences at their own pace.

That is why we pay attention to lots of little things during our trips.

We always carry plenty of water, take regular breaks on longer walks, and watch carefully for signs that they are getting tired. We often plan our stops around dog-friendly cafés. These are little breaks for us too, but also a chance to practise an important skill: learning that something doesn’t always have to be happening. They can simply settle down beside our feet, wait calmly and rest while we enjoy our coffee.

If we come across a stream and they want to go in, we let them splash around. But it is never something they have to do — only if they want to.

In warmer weather, we are also very careful about the surfaces we walk on. We always check asphalt and concrete to make sure they have not become too hot, because what feels perfectly fine to us in shoes may already be uncomfortable for little paws.

Travelling on a little railway was a completely different kind of adventure. New sounds, movement, people, scenery rushing past — lots of stimulation all at once. They really enjoyed it, while we of course held onto them securely the entire time, because sometimes their curious nature can be a little quicker than their common sense.

When we travel, we always choose dog-friendly accommodation, and we especially love hotels that welcome dogs with a little something prepared especially for them. Even so, we always bring a few familiar things from home.

Their little blanket almost always travels with us. Its smell and feel are familiar, so even in a completely new hotel room they quickly have a little spot that already feels like “home”. Sometimes that alone is enough to help them settle down and relax much more easily.

We also always bring their usual food and their own treats. Travelling already brings plenty of changes, so we prefer not to change their diet unnecessarily at the same time.

And yes… shampoo quite often makes it into the luggage too. After a proper forest walk, splashing around in a stream or a muddy adventure, sometimes there is simply no question that bath time will be waiting for us in the evening.

We also make sure not to squeeze too much into a single day. A new town, a forest walk, unfamiliar people, different sounds and smells may simply feel like a lovely day out to us, but for a dog it can be a huge amount of information to process. That is why rest is just as important a part of the day as the adventure itself.

Perhaps this is what we love most about travelling together: not only do they get to discover more and more of the world, but we get to know them better too.

We see who is the first to jump into the stream, who prefers to watch from a safe distance, who falls asleep in the hotel within two minutes, who is the endless little explorer, and who needs a little more time before deciding: alright, I think I’m ready to try this too.

Every one of them has their own little personality — and that is exactly how we love them.

A nyár tele van sétákkal, kirándulásokkal és sok szabadban töltött élménnyel, de ilyenkor néhány dologra különösen érdemes odafigyelni a kutyusok egészsége érdekében.

Toklász

Séta után mindig nézzétek át a kutyus bundáját, tappancsait, füleit, hónalját és lágyékrészét. A toklász könnyen befúródhat a bőr alá, fülbe vagy mancsba, és komoly gyulladást okozhat.

Kullancsok

Nyáron különösen fontos a rendszeres kullancsvédelem. Séta után érdemes átnézni a kutyust, főleg a fülek, nyak, has és lábak környékén.

Nagy meleg és forró aszfalt

A déli órákban kerüljétek a hosszú sétákat. Inkább kora reggel vagy késő este induljatok útnak. Ha a kezünknek túl meleg az aszfalt, a kutyus mancsának is az, ilyenkor válasszatok árnyékos, füves útvonalat.

Folyadék és hűvös pihenőhely

Mindig legyen nálatok friss víz, főleg hosszabb séta, utazás vagy program esetén. Otthon és útközben is fontos, hogy legyen árnyékos, jól szellőző hely, ahol a kutyus pihenni tud.

Autó és utazás

Kutyust soha nem hagyunk autóban egyedül, még rövid időre sem. Arra is figyeljetek, hogy a forró ülés, csomagtér, fém ketrec vagy műanyag box nagyon gyorsan átmelegedhet.

Állóvizek, algás tavak, pocsolyák

Nyáron a tavakban, pocsolyákban és lassú folyású vizekben megjelenhetnek olyan algák, amelyek veszélyesek lehetnek a kutyusokra. Ha a víz zöldes, habos, büdös vagy nyálkás felszínű, inkább kerüljétek el, és fürdés után érdemes leöblíteni a kutyust tiszta vízzel.

Túl sok tóvíz vagy tengervíz lenyelése

Játék és fürdés közben sok kutyus akaratlanul is iszik a vízből. A túl sok tóvíz vagy sós víz gyomorpanaszokat okozhat, ezért mindig legyen nálatok friss ivóvíz.

Rovarcsípések

A méh- és darázscsípés különösen akkor lehet veszélyes, ha a kutyust a szája, nyelve vagy torka környékén éri. Ilyenkor a duzzanat miatt érdemes azonnal állatorvossal egyeztetni.

Grillezés és kerti sütögetés

A csontok, kukoricacső, hagyma, fokhagyma, saslikpálca és zsíros falatok nem kutyának valók. Bármilyen csábítóan néz is, a maradék nem mindig biztonságos jutalomfalat.

Naptej, rovarirtó és kerti vegyszerek

A gazdiknak készült naptej, szúnyogriasztó vagy kerti permetezőszer nem biztos, hogy biztonságos a kutyusoknak. Figyeljetek rá, hogy ne nyalják le magukról, a gazdiról vagy a fűről ezeket az anyagokat.

Nálunk a Budai Alfa Kennelben mindig nagy figyelmet fordítunk arra, hogy a kutyusaink biztonságban, egészségesen és komfortosan élvezzék a nyári napokat is.

Summer Guide for Dog Owners

Summer is full of walks, trips, and wonderful outdoor moments, but during this season there are a few things worth paying extra attention to in order to keep our dogs healthy and safe.

Foxtails
After every walk, always check your dog’s coat, paws, ears, armpits, and groin area. Foxtails can easily work their way under the skin, into the ears, or between the paws, and may cause serious inflammation.

Ticks
Regular tick protection is especially important during the summer. After walks, it is always a good idea to check your dog carefully, especially around the ears, neck, belly, and legs.

Heat and hot asphalt
Avoid long walks during the hottest midday hours. It is better to go out early in the morning or later in the evening. If the asphalt feels too hot for your hand, it is too hot for your dog’s paws as well. In this case, choose a shady, grassy route instead.

Water and a cool resting place
Always have fresh water with you, especially during longer walks, trips, or outdoor programs. At home and on the go, it is also important to provide a shady, well-ventilated place where your dog can rest comfortably.

Cars and travelling
Never leave your dog alone in the car, not even for a short time. Also keep in mind that hot seats, the trunk, metal crates, or plastic carriers can heat up very quickly.

Still waters, algae-filled lakes, and puddles
In summer, lakes, puddles, and slow-moving waters may contain algae that can be dangerous for dogs. If the water looks greenish, foamy, smelly, or has a slimy surface, it is better to avoid it. After swimming, it is also a good idea to rinse your dog with clean water.

Swallowing too much lake or sea water
While playing and swimming, many dogs accidentally drink from the water. Too much lake water or salt water can cause stomach problems, so always make sure you have fresh drinking water with you.

Insect stings
Bee and wasp stings can be especially dangerous if your dog is stung around the mouth, tongue, or throat. Because swelling can occur, it is best to contact a veterinarian immediately in such cases.

Barbecues and garden cookouts
Bones, corn cobs, onions, garlic, skewers, and fatty leftovers are not suitable for dogs. No matter how tempting they may look, leftovers are not always a safe treat.

Sunscreen, insect repellent, and garden chemicals
Sunscreen, mosquito repellent, or garden sprays made for people are not necessarily safe for dogs. Make sure your dog does not lick these substances from their own coat, from you, or from the grass.

At Budai Alfa Kennel, we always pay great attention to making sure our dogs can enjoy the summer days safely, healthily, and comfortably.

Bei einer wirklich hochwertigen Veranstaltung mit internationalen Richtern durften wir unsere Hunde präsentieren. Obwohl die Tage sehr ereignisreich waren und die Hitze alle auf die Probe stellte, haben sich die vielen Vorbereitungen, das Training und die sorgfältige Arbeit ausgezahlt.

EXPERIENCE REPORT: OZ MADA 2x International Dog Show

We are still under the spell of the weekend we had the chance to spend at this international dog show. We were welcomed by a beautiful venue, professional organization, an elegant opening ceremony, and a truly special Best in Show atmosphere.

Dogs and owners arrived from several countries, and the judges also represented a high professional standard from numerous European countries. It was especially wonderful to see that interpretation was provided everywhere, allowing everyone to receive accurate and detailed feedback.

The judging was fair yet strict, which makes us especially proud that our dogs achieved excellent results. Their appearance, coat, musculature, and movement all received outstanding evaluations. Thank you to judges Alina Jurgaityte and Jekaterina Klimovica.

We had the honor of standing on the podium several times during Best in Show, but perhaps one of the most touching moments was when two of our dogs stood on the podium at the same time in our own category: in first and third place. This was a huge source of pride for us and a truly unforgettable moment.

We arrived at the show with three dogs, so we would also like to sincerely thank Nina Kralovičová for her professional handling and her help in the ring. Thanks to her, our dogs were also able to compete together, which was especially important and valuable to us.

We returned home from this prestigious international dog show with fantastic experiences and beautiful results. Our dogs performed excellently.

ÉLMÉNYBESZÁMOLÓ: OZ MADA 2x International Kutyakiállítás

Még mindig a hatása alatt vagyunk a hétvégének, amit ezen a nemzetközi kutyakiállításon tölthettünk. Gyönyörű helyszín, profi szervezés, igényes megnyitó és igazán különleges Best in Show hangulat fogadott minket.

A kiállításon több országból érkeztek kutyusok és gazdik, a bírók pedig szintén számos európai országból képviselték a szakmai színvonalat. Külön öröm volt látni, hogy a tolmácsolás mindenhol biztosított volt, így mindenki pontos és részletes visszajelzést kaphatott.

A bírálatok korrektek, ugyanakkor szigorúak voltak, ezért különösen büszkék vagyunk arra, hogy kutyusaink kiváló eredményekkel szerepeltek. Küllemük, szőrzetük, izomzatuk és mozgásuk is kiemelkedő értékelést kapott. Köszönjük Alina Jurgaityte és Jekaterina Klimovica bíróknak.

Többször is dobogóra állhattunk a Best in Show során, de talán az egyik legmeghatóbb pillanat az volt, amikor a saját kategóriánkban két kutyusunkkal egyszerre is dobogón állhattunk: az első és a harmadik helyen. Ez számunkra hatalmas büszkeség és egy igazán emlékezetes pillanat volt.

Három kutyussal érkeztünk a kiállításra, ezért ezúton is szeretnénk szívből megköszönni Nina Kralovičovának a profi felvezetést és a segítségét a ringben. Neki köszönhetően kutyusaink együtt is meg tudtak mérettetni, ami számunkra különösen fontos és értékes volt.

Fantasztikus élményekkel és gyönyörű eredményekkel tértünk haza erről a színvonalas nemzetközi kutyakiállításról. Kutyusaink kiválóan szerepeltek.

Am Wochenende fand die TKOK CAC- und Klub-Hundeausstellung statt, bei der unser Kennel diesmal nur von Dorian vertreten wurde.

Da drei Hunde unseres Kennels zur gleichen Zeit an einer internationalen Hundeausstellung im Ausland teilnahmen, hielt Dorian allein zu Hause die Stellung — und das mit solch wunderbaren Ergebnissen! Wir sind unglaublich stolz auf ihn.

This weekend, the TKOK CAC and Club Dog Show took place, where our kennel was represented this time only by Dorian.

Since three of our kennel’s dogs were participating in an international dog show abroad at the same time, Dorian held the fort at home all by himself — and with such wonderful results! We are incredibly proud of him.

Pay attention to the ground

Rocky, thorny, hot, or muddy terrain can easily injure your dog’s paws. During the hike, check their paws from time to time to make sure there are no small stones, foxtails, mud, or anything else that could cause irritation.

Always bring fresh water

Dogs can get dehydrated quickly while hiking, especially in warmer weather. It is better to give them smaller amounts of water more often rather than letting them drink a large amount all at once at the end.

Take breaks

Not every dog clearly shows when they are tired. Stop from time to time and let them sniff around, calm down, and recover a little.

Protect against ticks and other parasites

This is essential in wooded or grassy areas. Before the hike, make sure your dog has proper protection, and afterward always check their coat thoroughly.

Do not make the distance too long

Always adapt the route to your dog’s age, fitness level, and overall health. A young, energetic dog and an older companion can handle very different levels of activity.

Watch the temperature

Dogs can be much more sensitive to heat than we might think. During hot weather, it is better to head out early in the morning or later in the afternoon, and choose shaded sections whenever possible.

Bring a leash

Even if your dog is well trained. Because of wild animals, other hikers, or unexpected situations, this is often the safest option.

Do not forget treats

A small snack can come in handy during breaks, as motivation, or simply to help make the hike a positive experience for your dog too.

Watch your dog’s signals

Heavy panting, falling behind, slowing down, or lying down often can all be signs that your dog is tired or that the pace is too much. In that case, it is better to slow down or turn back.

Hiking with your dog is a wonderful shared activity, but safety and comfort should always come first.

Figyelj a talajra

A köves, tüskés, forró vagy sáros terep könnyen felsértheti a tappancsokat. Túra közben néha nézd meg a mancsokat, nem ment-e bele kavics, toklász, sár vagy bármi, ami irritációt okozhat.

Legyen nálatok mindig friss víz

A kutyák túrázás közben gyorsan kiszáradhatnak, főleg melegebb időben. Inkább többször adj nekik kisebb adag vizet, mint hogy csak a végén igyanak sokat egyszerre.

Tartsatok pihenőket

Nem minden kutya jelzi egyértelműen, ha elfáradt. Időnként álljatok meg, hagyjátok szimatolni, megnyugodni, kicsit regenerálódni.

Védekezz a kullancsok és egyéb élősködők ellen

Erdei, füves területen ez alap. Túra előtt érdemes gondoskodni a megfelelő védelemről, utána pedig mindig alaposan átnézni a bundát.

Ne legyen túl nagy a táv

Mindig a kutya korához, edzettségéhez és egészségi állapotához igazítsd az útvonalat. Egy fiatal, energikus kutya és egy idősebb kedvenc teljesen más terhelést bír.

Figyelj a hőmérsékletre

A kutyák sokkal érzékenyebbek lehetnek a melegre, mint gondolnánk. Kánikulában inkább korán reggel vagy késő délután induljatok, és keressetek árnyékos szakaszokat.

Legyen nálatok póráz

Még akkor is, ha a kutyus jól nevelt. Vadállatok, más túrázók vagy váratlan helyzetek miatt sokszor ez a legbiztonságosabb megoldás.

Ne feledkezz meg a jutalomfalatról sem

Egy kis nasi jól jöhet pihenőnél, motivációként vagy csak azért, hogy a túra a kutyusnak is pozitív élmény maradjon.

Figyeld a kutyád jelzéseit

Lihegés, lemaradás, lassulás, gyakori lefekvés: mind azt jelezheti, hogy elfáradt vagy túl sok neki a tempó. Ilyenkor inkább lassítsatok vagy forduljatok vissza.

A túrázás kutyával csodálatos közös program, de a biztonság és a kényelem mindig legyen az első.

Kutyusaink nagyon élvezték, még a meredekebb hegymeneteket is könnyen teljesítették, de nagyon nagy figyelmet fordítunk az ízületeik védelmére és az egészségük állapotára, ha kíváncsi vagy írj privátban és segítünk a kutyusod igényeire szabva.
